X-Men: Apocalypse - 10 Things We Expect To See

6. Notable Absences

In X-Men: Days of Future past, there are likely to be severe casualties in the X-Men ranks, thanks to the mutant-killing Sentinels created by the industrialist Bolivar Trask (indeed, thanks to leaks, it is actually known which characters die, but there'll be no spoilers for that here). James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence have openly been stated as reprising their roles in X-Men: Apocalypse, so we know that Professor Xavier, Magneto, Beast and Mystique will appear in some capacity, and Channing Tatum will appear as Gambit, but what about guys like Wolverine, Iceman, Storm, Colossus and Kitty Pryde? The X-Men franchise hasn't been afraid to kill people off (though it does have a nasty habit of bringing them back to life in some cases) and you should definitely expect some of the characters who get killed in the 1970s scenes of Days of Future past to be permanent absences and therefore not present in the 1980s-set X-Men: Apocalypse.
