In the comic books, Apocalypse will often recruit four characters who have been genetically altered and brainwashed to serve him. The characters are usually mutants and Apocalypse will invariably enhance them or endow them with new abilities. They are then given the same four new names based on the biblical Four Horsemen (Death, Famine, Pestilence - which replaces Conquest from the bible - and War) and become his most elite lackeys. Previously, he has used such characters as Wolverine, Gambit, Sunfire, Polaris, Gazer and Psylocke in this capacity. The concept is just so cool and terrifying and it would be fantastic to see the Four Horsemen up against the X-Men in X-Men: Apocalypse. Major spoiler alert (press "next" to avoid it)... In the leaked post-credits scene of X-Men: Days of Future Past, in which En Sabah Nur is being worshipped, four hooded figures sit on horseback nearby. Evidently, these guys are meant to be the Four Horsemen, so their inclusion seems somewhat inevitable in X-Men Apocalypse.
