X-Men: Apocalypse - 10 Things That Will Definitely Happen

5. Archangel Will Make His Screen Debut

This one is a biggie, as the birth of the Archangel character is one of the most iconic moments in X-Men history. Taking the golden-haired posh and pretty boy of the original X-Men team, Warren Worthington, and turning him bad was a major shock back in 1987. The story goes that an attack leaves Angel€™s wings in tatters, with gangrene leaving amputation as the only option to save his life. The loss of his wings sent Angel into a downward spiral that saw him sell his soul to Apocalypse and become Death, changing his skin tone to a nice Apocalypse-blue and giving him razor-sharp organic metal wings. It also sent him completely off the deep end and filled him with the sort of murderous rage usually only found in Star Wars fans who€™ve just been given Jar Jar Binks memorabilia for Christmas. It€™s already known that Angel will be played by Ben Hardy, who is probably best known for playing Ian Beale€™s son in Eastenders (really), and that unlike Warren€™s appearance in X-Men: Last Stand, he will indeed be going dark. How do I know? Well, for one he€™s been seen in the trailer stood at Apocalypse€™s side along with Storm, Psylocke and Magneto, and Singer has revealed concept art of the wings already. There€™s been no mention of the blue skin yet though, maybe the pantone clashes with Oscar Isaac€™s make-up. For any history buffs, Angel appeared as central character in Brett Ratner€™s X-Men: The Last Stand, although he didn€™t really do very much except flap around a bit if truth be told. Still Singer has form when it comes to correcting Ratner€™s mistakes, so hopefully he can make Angel interesting again.
