X-Men: Days Of Future Past hasn't even left the cinema yet, and hype is already building for its successor in Bryan Singer's revitalised X-Men franchise. In many ways, this was to be expected: the director actively encouraged a culture of forward-looking excitement when he announced the title of the sequel before DOFP was even out, and it fits with the all-encompassing agenda in the industry now to establish unified narratives in multiple comic book movies to have suggestions for where the franchise is going next. Fox already have irons in the fire in the shape of Gambit's solo outing and X-Force, and it appears they are looking to go the same route as Marvel, DC and Sony, which means forward planning has leapt to the top of their agenda. With that in mind, news is beginning to filter through pertaining to what we can expect from Apocalypse: Singer has said the seeds of the plot were sewn in Days Of Future Past, and the casting of Channing Tatum means Gambit will appear, but beyond that, the rest is in the air. With some significant story elements to be decided on, there could well be a major injection of new characters, and naturally, the major question at this stage is who should play those potential parts...
