It has long been suggested that Fox are still willing to ignore the fact that the character assassination of Wade Wilson and Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and give the character a rebooted solo outing, but you simply cannot ignore the fact that the star has now been in four unloved comic book movies. A solo movie might not be the best move for him, despite how well suited he appears to be to the motor-mouthed mercenary. So what better opportunity than to bring him into the X-Men universe? He's already been suggested as a cast member for the X-Force movie, and the amalgamation of those two teams would seem appropriate for the threat posed by Apocalypse, as well as as a means to set up that spin-off. Deadpool is a firm fan favourite, and there's no denying that the character still has legs, even with Reynolds under the mask. All he needs is someone like Bryan Singer to actually pay attention to the source and protect the character from cartoonish spoofing.
