X-Men: Apocalypse - 12 Perfect Actors To Complete The Cast
9. John Malkovich - Warren Worthington II
He might not be a mutant, but Worthington could play a significant part in Apocalypse, considering the potential to see Angel (or Archangel, more specifically) under the villain's control. His relationship with his father - the inventor of the mutant cure - could represent a significant step in telling that story, as well as playing a fundamental part in Apocalypse's agenda to assert mutant control once more. The issue of the cure will no doubt re-appear in the X-Men movies, because it is an inherent part of the wider narrative arc, just as the shadow of civil rights allegory will continue as long as the franchise exists. And Worthington is a key element to that story, as well as being a key figure for Angel's arc, considering he's Warren Worthington III's father. It would be intriguing to see someone like John Malkovich brought in to rechannel his famous on-screen malevolence, and allow him the opportunity to star in a comic book movie that was taken away when Sam Raimi was unable to follow through on casting him as Vulture in Spider-Man 4. Given the opportunity to actually act, and not play a caricature, Malkovich would add the same classical edge that Kelsey Grammer wonderfully did in The Last Stand, and he has proven himself capable of creating genuinely unlikeable, complex characters in the past.
