X-Men: Apocalypse - 7 Spoilers Learned From The New Images

5. Tragedy Strikes For Magneto

Going back to that Comic-Con footage and it was strongly implied that Apocalypse is able to control mutants, something which many then took to mean that he was forcing Magneto to serve as one of his Four Horsemen. The magazine seems to refute that. Set ten years after the events of X-Men: Days of Future Past, X-Men: Apocalypse picks up with a Magneto who has moved on from his villainous ways. In fact, he's moved to Poland in pursuit of a normal life and is happily living that when the movie begins. Unfortunately, tragedy strikes. They don't get any more specific than that, but it's a safe bet that this could have something to do with those set photos of soldiers invading a forest setting with wooden bows and arrow; surely a perfect weapon to take down a Master of Magnetism. His new love more than likely gets caught in the crossfire though, and it's then Michael Fassbender says that "Apocalypse finds Erik at a low ebb and recruits him." The ends of both X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past teased Magneto forming his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and this will be the second time fans haven't got to see it happen because it's not something which has suited the plot of the follow-up. Hopefully his interactions with Apocalypse will lead to him finally forming a team of his own to take on the X-Men in the next instalment of the franchise (which will presumably move to the '90s).
