While you may think 2016 is all about heroes fighting heroes thanks to the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Captain America: Civil War, the one comic book adaptation with a very good chance of outshining them both is X-Men: Apocalypse. Hot off the success of Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer is introducing a long list of fan-favourite characters, delivering Roland Emmerich levels of epic destruction fans have been waiting to see these mutants deal with for years, and arguably the greatest X-Men villain of all-time. Now, as that May 27th release date gets closer, more and more details about the movie are being unearthed, and some set visits recently took place which have led to the reveal of some major plot spoilers and tons of fascinating details about both new and returning characters. With comments from Singer, writer/producer Simon Kinberg, and almost the entire cast, it feels like Fox are beginning to finally pull the curtain back on X-Men: Apocalypse, a movie which has so far flown under the radar because of how anticipated and prolific movies like those mentioned above are.
