X-Men: Apocalypse: Everything We Already Know

3. Young Nightcrawler Is The Comic Relief

Given how grim the film is surely going to be, some well-placed comic relief will be much needed, and will apparently come in large part from the young version of Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee), who is rescued by Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) early on in the film. This is a fairly smart move considering how much criticism has already been leveled against the look of Nightcrawler in the movie, with common complaints being that he looks like a kid dressing up as the character at Halloween. Basically, it's the same complaints that were (justifiably) leveled at the young Beast in First Class: the make-up looks silly. If the movie doesn't ask us to take Nightcrawler especially seriously, then he'll probably work out just fine, especially if he plays the comedy sidekick for the most part.
