Okay okay, so that's all the casting and other behind-the-scenes information you need to know. But what is X-Men: Apocalypse actually about? Well, thanks to a combination of confirmed reports, announcements, speculation and drawing from the comic books, it looks like fans have a pretty good idea of what to expect from the film's plot. It does pick up from Days Of Future Past, but skips a decade. First Class was set in the sixties, most of the follow-up in the seventies, and so Apocalypse will take place in the eighties. It's unknown if there'll be more time travel stuff to link to the present timeline or if it'll just be another period piece, but expect some more fun cultural reference points, fashion and music-wise. Apocalypse is the First Mutant, which means that seven films in this is finally going to be an origin story. Not for the X-Men, but mutantkind as a whole. There's been speculation in the films as to how this next step in human evolution came to be, but X-Men: Apocalypse is apparently going to provide some answers. Which unfortunately will coincide with Oscar Isaac's Apocalypse bringing about, well, the Apocalypse, presumably with his Four Horseman in two. The film will be about mutantkind's beginning...and also its end.
