10. It Follows On Directly From Days Of Future Past
From the looks of it, X-Men: Apocalypse is going to follow on directly from Days Of Future Past. Like, almost literally. The last film was effectively a hard reset of the X-Men universe, retconning a bunch of stuff that happened in the earlier films, and creating a sort of utopian present for all the main players all of whom were alive, even if they weren't before. Which was nice! A happy ending is hard to find in the tale of the constant struggle of homo superior. But then the post-credits sequence hinted at something dark coming. Or something dark that had already happened. The timeline is still sort of confusing. That end credits sequence was probably inexplicable to anybody who isn't a huge nerd, but it involved a grey-skinned kid raising the pyramids in ancient Egypt, whilst overseen by Four Horsemen. That's Apocalypse, and he's going to be the main bad guy in this new film.
