X-Men: Apocalypse Leaked Trailer: 6 Things You Need To Know

5. Returning To The CIA

Apocalypse Storm

It was reiterated at Comic-Con that X-Men: Apocalypse takes place a decade after the events of X-Men: Days of Future Past, and mutants have now been accepted by the world for the most part.

However, Moira MacTaggert - seen here for the first time since X-Men: First Class and still working in the CIA - explains to Charles Xavier that since they it was revealed that mutants exist, various secret societies and cults have started springing up. One of those believes that there is a mutant who was born tens of thousands of years ago, and that he was in fact the first mutant.

Both of those claims correlate to the comic books origins of Apocalypse, another sign that Singer is sticking to the source material closer than ever before in adapting this fan-favourite villain.

It's worth noting that in this scene and the earlier one he shares with Jean that Xavier still has a full head of hair. Neither he or Magneto appeared to have aged much in the twenty years which have passed since X-Men: First Class (which is obviously a little strange), but that obviously can't be helped too much considering the fact that that movie only came out four years ago.

Even so, you'd think they'd use some make-up effects - even just greying temples - to give the impression that the years have taken some sort of toll on them!
