Apocalypse has always had his followers in the comics, but Singer's fourth film in the X-Men director's chair looks to be taking things a step further, with Apocalypse inspiring many of the most ancient religions throughout time. We hear him say that he has been known as RA, the Egyptian sun god, and Krishna amongst others, but it's also hinted that he could have even informed Christian theology with his four heralds, the Horsemen commonly known as Famine, Death, Pestilence and War. It's clear that Apocalypse has had a huge impact on history already in the X-Men Universe, but what's becoming even more obvious is just how much Singer and his co-writers are tying their mythology in with the history, myths and religious concepts that we the audience are familiar with. It's a canny (or should that be uncanny) move, that builds up the menace and legend of this all-powerful threat before he's even appeared on screen.
Stereotypically awkward writer, gamer and general nerd. Dislikes writing in the third person, likes tea as much as the next man but not as much as a typical blogger and has breath as fresh as a summer ham.
