8. Marvel And Red Hook

Jean Grey's hometown is revealed to be Red Hook during the sequence that we see a full reflection of her full powers. When she feels threatened by police, she destroys a number of their vehicles and as we watch them being destroyed, it's revealed they're from the Red Hook PD.

The location has history with Marvel too and with the mutant universe.

FX's Legion show is partially set in Red Hook and in the comics, Hydra also had a secret base there. And not only that, but Steve Rogers settled there after revealing his true identity to the world in the comics.
