X-Men: Dark Phoenix - 21 Easter Eggs & References Explained

6. Magneto's White House Attack

When Magneto discovers that Jean has killed Mystique thanks to Beast, he turns his back immediately on his peaceful life and swears vengeance. Symbolically, he goes to a chest in his own home on Genosha and retrieves his iconic helmet - seemingly no longer in the more vibrant red colours it was daubed in in Apocalypse.

The box is clearly where he keeps mementos from his past life, because under the helmet is a newspaper carrying the headline "News cameras capture White House...", which is almost clearly a reference to Magneto's attack on the White House from X-Men: Days of Future Past.

While that was not a big victory for him, it clearly mattered to him enough to go into his keepsake box.
