7. Make The New Cast The Main Characters
The IMDb page for Dark Phoenix includes a few main characters from the previous X-Men trilogy: James McAvoy's Professor X, Michael Fassbender's Magneto, Nicholas Hoult's Beast, and, most bizarrely, Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique, despite her supposed indifference to being an X-Men following her bored performance in Apocalypse.
None of these four should be the main characters. Professor X should be taken out of the field entirely, instead advising from the X-Mansion. Magneto, Mystique, and Beast should all be in smaller roles as well.
As previously mentioned, the main focus should be Sophie Turner's Jean Grey, but the other new members should also be front and center. Tye Sheridan's Cyclops, Alexandra Shipp's Storm, and Kodi Smit-McPhee's Nightcrawler look set to become the new and most iconic incarnation of the X-Men. These four young actors (and hopefully Evan Peters' Quicksilver) are Fox's best bet to move the series forward.
The temptation to make Mystique And Her Super Friends 3 is obvious. Jennifer Lawrence is one of the biggest movie stars in the world and an ideal person to build a franchise around. In terms of longevity, however, banking on Turner and Sheridan, both of whom can lead the franchise for years to come, is the best long term plan.
