X-Men: Dark Phoenix Trailer 2 Reactions - 4 Ups And 7 Downs
3. There's Another Quicksilver Sequence
The benefit of Dark Phoenix being a bit of a greatest hits set-up is that we're actually going to get some welcome returns. Fassbender being a villain is a great thing, for instance, but even better, we're going to get another of the impressive slow motion Quicksilver sequences that have been the most inventive parts of the previous X-Men movies.
Obviously, it's going to be important to make sure that this isn't just another repeat of what's come before, even though those past sequences were incredible. Every time you do something the same, you get diminished returns, so Fox have hopefully made sure that something is different or even more impressive.
There's actually a hint that this sequence might not actually go as the others have, with Jean interrupting Quicksilver's attack on her to show how infinitely powerful she is. That alone should mark this set-piece out as different enough.
