1. Does This Mean X3 Doesn't Count?
The wonderful thing about introducing time travel into a series is that it provides an opportunity to erase the mistakes of the past and literally rewrite history. If there's one mistake that can be attributed to the X-Men films, it is hands down the third film: Brett Ratner's ill-judged and disappointing X-Men 3: The Last Stand. Days of Future Past is a fine opportunity to rejuvenate the X-Men franchise, and to alter some rather unfortunate events (read: deaths) and take the future films into an entirely new direction without it being dragged down by a continuity that just doesn't work anymore. In a time when movies are rebooted every other year, it would be great for a franchise to not do that, and to find alternate ways to clean up its otherwise conflicted mythology.
Whether or not we get any answers to these questions, odds are looking good that X-Men: Days of Future Past will still be an awesome movie. Got any other questions you hope they answer this time around? Let us know in the comments.
