X-Men: Days Of Future Past: 5 New Faces Explained

3. Omar Sy As Bishop

Omar Sy as Bishop Bishop is a mutant from an alternative reality. He is branded with an M over his right eye, a mark they used in the future to mark mutants for quick physical identification. His was a society that had already fallen to Sentinels gone mad. He was a member of the Xavier Society Enforcers (XSE) who served as mutant police force in the late 21st century and were dedicated to bringing mutant criminals to justice. He then travels back in time to try and stop this version of the future from happening. He has the power to absorb, store and redistribute energy directed at him. So if he is hit by a lightning bolt by Storm he is able to then send this same lightning out at his own target or even convert it into a concussive blast of his own. Interestingly he has been shown to be able to hurt people who would otherwise be immune to that type of energy. In the case of Storm if he hit her back with her own lightning bolt she would be hurt from it like anyone else would when normally she has a naturally immunity to it. His first appearance was in The Uncanny X-Men #282.
