X-Men: Days Of Future Past To Feature Sentinels & Kitty Pryde In A Big Way
As if all the recent casting news wasn't enough, fans now have a few more reasons to get excited about Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past. In a recent interview with SFX magazine, Mark Millar, legendary comic book writer and consultant with 20th Century Fox on their Marvel films, revealed more details on characters and certain evil robots that will make an appearance in the forthcoming film.
"I dont really want to give too much away but the Sentinels are a big feature of this story. They will be cool and this will deliver on all of the teasers. Weve all been waiting for this ever since 'X-Men: The Last Stand' showed us one of their heads. Now it is finally coming, and we only have to pay ten quid to see it in the cinema whereas theyre having to pay $100 million to deliver it. So Im delighted".On whether we can expect to see all characters get equal screen time or if some might be relegated to cameos.
"I think the best comparison I can give is to 'Star Trek' that is an ensemble but it never feels as if there is not enough time with any one character. Or maybe 'Lost' that is an ensemble but every character gets their own moment to shine. So as long as everyone is there for a reason there doesnt need to be a problem with so many characters. This is a beautifully structured film, and it is a time travel story so the structure has to be especially strong".Does that mean that Kitty Pryde, an important character in the Days Of Future Past comic on which the film is based, will have a big role?
"Ach, I cannae get into that (laughs). As soon as I say something it will turn into a big internet story. Let me put it this way though: Kitty Pryde fans will not be disappointed".'X-Men: Days Of Future Past' will be directed by Bryan Singer and will go into production in April, with a scheduled release date of July 18th 2014. James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult are set to reprise their roles from 'X-Men: First Class'. With Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, and Shawn Ashmore reprising their roles from previous 'X-Men' films. And more likely to be confirmed soon.
