X-Men Film Universe's Future: 10 Things You Need To Know
10. X-Men: Apocalypse's Trailer Contains A Major Spoiler
Like every other piece of footage shown at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, a bootleg version of X-Men: Apocalypse's trailer found its way online minutes after debuting in Hall H. Since then, nothing from the movie has been shown off by Fox, with only a couple of leaked stills and the odd magazine feature keeping us ticking over. There were rumours that the first teaser might be shown before The Martian, but those proved to be false, and now Bryan Singer has been quoted as saying that the trailer will be out in six months. Wait, what?! It's possible that the X-Men: Apocalypse director was referring to the first full-length trailer rather than a teaser as that would be very late in the day to release a first look at footage from the movie. The topic actually came up when Singer recently revealed that there's an homage right at the end of the movie which he described as being, "kind of a wrap up of six movies." However, Fox has apparently decided to include this scene in the trailer, meaning that they're going to spoil what sounds like a key moment before it's released. The homage is likely something along the lines of a new team of X-Men assembling who resemble the group introduced back in 2000's X-Men, which is cool, but why the studio would want to show this scene off in a trailer is baffling. It's a move reminiscent of Sony spoiling the end of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Paramount revealing Terminator Genisys' big twist in the trailers, but at least you now know that you're going to need to avoid the trailer - and the internet in general - to keep this homage a surprise!
