Speaking of getting the southern heritage right, it's a relief to report that Gambit will be shooting in New Orleans this autumn. Producer and frequent Tatum collaborator Reid Carolin spilled the beans a while back:
"well probably start that in late October/November in New Orleans."
The genuine setting meshed with Tatum's attention to detail should render Gambit an event movie with a very decisive and palpable geographic sensibility. It'll certainly please fans to know the film-makers are invested in bringing the character to life as truthfully as possible. Gambit opens in the UK & US on 7th October 2017.
