X-Men Apocalypse: 10 Implications For The X-Men Franchise

It goes without saying that, though Apocalypse is defeated at the end of the movie, he nevertheless leaves a massive trail of destruction in his wake.

Arguably his most damaging move was to grant Magneto the power to manipulate the Earth's magnetic poles, which he does at the movie's climax, causing widespread destruction and surely an inestimable number of deaths.

Even though the next movie will probably take place 7-10 years after the events of Apocalypse, we can expect at least a few references to the catastrophe, considering how it literally altered the Earth's landscape and took so many lives.

While it's possible that Magneto's destruction may in fact be downplayed so we don't just hate the guy forever more, it's tough to believe that there wouldn't be at least some sort of nod to the chaos that ensued, considering how the scale was so much larger than the usual villainous scheme.
