X-Men Apocalypse: 13 Reasons It's A Huge Disappointment

3. The Quicksilver/Magneto Teasing Continues

One of the most amusing ideas floated in Days of Future Past was that, as per the comics, Magneto is Quicksilver's father.

This is confirmed in Apocalypse, where Peter is in pursuit of Magneto, and his mother briefly suggests how fruitless an endeavour it is.

The pivotal moment seems to come in the final battle, when Quicksilver helps confront Magneto, and when Magneto asks about him, he stutters over his words before deciding not to mention that he's his son.

At the end of the movie, Quickie says that he might tell his father the truth in the future, but not yet, which is rather disappointing considering the emotional resonance it could've had, especially with Magneto losing his own family at the start of the film.

Instead, this soap opera is being dragged out for yet another movie, when this really felt like the right time to pull the trigger. Then again, it would just pad out the runtime further...
