X-Men: Apocalypse - 15 Questions Left By The Stupidest X-Movie Ever
4. Why Was Quicksilver So Weird About The Father Stuff?
It's kinda odd that Fox took so long to make Magneto Quicksilver's father (and Scarlet Witch's, but that would require far too much electric wire to keep contained) - while their version of Peter Maximoff was more interesting anyway, it was the big thing they had over Marvel's. Days Of Future Past did have a nice little allusion to it, but it only became confirmed in Apocalypse.
In fact, it wasn't just confirmed, it was a major plot point and the backbone of Quicksilver's part in the film. He gets back into the X-fray to track down his Dad and casually drops it into conversation for a neat little, trailer-spoiled gag.
So why is he so weird about it? The world is literally about to be destroyed. Yes, it'd be a bit weird learning that the one-night stand from twenty-three years earlier (which, fun fact, will have come right in the middle of Erik's Nazi vendetta) resulted in a kid, but impending doom should help Peter get over any awkwardness. Magneto eventually turns on Apocalypse when he sees his friends in peril, but a realisation he does still have a family would have certainly helped.
To make things worse, at the end Quicksilver vows to not tell Magneto for no real reason other than that may be simply too much character drama for the film to handle.
