17. Angel's "Empowerment" And Metallica

When Psylocke (whose mutation appears at least partly to be being a bitch) takes Apocalypse to see Angel to recruit him, they find him a broken man, drinking and hating his existence.

Brilliantly, his breakdown is accompanied in the background by the thrash metal sounds of Metallica, and their marvellously appropriately 1983 song "The Four Horsemen" from Kill 'Em All.

Later, after Apocalypse has given him his metal wings and for some reason shaved some of his Billy Idol hair, he also gives him a fetching blue face tattoo, an echo of the fact that he turns his skin blue in the comics.
