X-Men: Apocalypse - Every Character Ranked From Worst To Best
14. Angel
To give Angel (or Archangel) his credit, he does have one of the coolest/grossest scenes in the movie when his broken wings are transformed into the biometallic versions Apocalypse gifts him for his service (in full body horror fashion to the sound of Metallica), but he's a little bit dull compared to everyone else.
I suppose it's to be expected: the Horsemen can't really interfere too much with Apocalypse's focus: they're mostly just foot-soldiers after all, and Angel seems to be classed as Apocalypse's personal bodyguard. That means he's all action and very little dialogue, leaving him somewhat one note (even though his flying scenes are surprisingly not terrible looking).
At the end of the day, he's a lot better than Ben Foster was in The Last Stand, but in a stacked film there's only so much room for him. And it obviously doesn't look like he's coming back either.
