Zac Efron confirmed as JOHNNY QUEST!

Zac Efron probably looks at Shia LaBeouf and thinks that's to himself that's where he wants to be in the next few years. The youthful looks won't last forever, he needs to move away from the High School Musical scene soon and find himself a role in a Summer blockbuster that could branch out the next phase of his career. Will Jonny Quest be that movie? efron-quest Warner Bros. are adapting the classic cartoon into a live action series and after months of rumors, the L.A. Times have now confirmed that Efron will star in the adaptation. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is in talks for the role of pilot and man-of-action Race Bannon, Quest's special bodyguard. In the cartoon of course, Quest was 11, so Efron's already got ten years on that. Probably a wise move, what works in cartoon form doesn't always translate to the big screen. And the British kids spy thriller Stormbreaker didn't set the world on fire with a teenage lead character. The L.A. Times also hint that Warner Bros. are going to change the name of Quest for fear of another Speed Racer. What logic that is, I can't say because everyone knows Speed Racer didn't bomb because it was called Speed Racer. It bombed because it looked terrible. Efron's age, a name change, the idea of live action. Too many changes from the source material, or is it just part of the Hollywood translation process that we should all be used to about now?
