Zack Snyder’s Justice League: 27 WTF Moments

22. Themyscira's Temple Is Destroyed

Perhaps the weakest action sequence in the Whedon Cut was the early set-piece where Steppenwolf invades Themyscira to steal the Mother Box - it's a mess of poor CGI, and while that's largely still true here, the scene is nevertheless improved and expanded for the better.

Snyder restores an epic beat which was pointlessly cut from the Whedon version - after Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen) flees the Amazonian temple with the Mother Box, the temple ends up falling into the ocean along with a good portion of the cliff edge.

In the Whedon Cut Steppenwolf simply breaks out of the side of the temple and the chase continues, but here we get something more suitably bombastic before the chase resumes.

And considering how many Amazons were clearly still entombed within the temple, that's quite the epic body count to boot.
