Dragon's Lair stood out in its time, since it plays out like an interactive movie. You watch fully animated scenes and make timed inputs to avoid obstacles and navigate around your surroundings. If the player mistimes any of these Quick Time Events, you'll find yourself plunging into a pit or being devoured by a monster.

As ruthless as the first instalment was, it was nothing compared to Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp. Although the sequel follows the same structure, there's one caveat that catches everybody off-guard.

You see, players must collect all the hidden treasures scattered throughout the game to unlock the the final level. These appear during specific sequences, sometimes for less than a second, and you must press the right button to grab them.

What's worse is there is no indication these collectibles are mandatory. The treasures are usually in the background or appear during a hectic moment, making them easy to miss.

If you fail to nab a single artefact, the game resets before reaching the last section, meaning you have to play the whole thing again. And if you miss one of these artefacts a second time, nobody will blame you if you quit then and there.
