10 Animal Crossing: New Horizons Updates We NEED To See

5. Useful Backpacks

In AC:NH, storage is a huge part of the game. If the player is fishing, catching bugs or cutting down trees they'll soon find themselves greeted by a message asking if you want to "swap it" or "drop it" when they have no space left. This will happen a lot unless the player is good at managing their inventory, unlike myself.

Going in blind, players may get excited when they see backpacks available for purchase or crafting. The idea of being able to expand your inventory size past what you get from the pocket improvements from the NookStop can seem like a game changer. Unfortunately, that isn't the case and the backpacks are purely a cosmetic addition.

Being able to dress in a mass assortment of clothes with niche accessories is great; a backpack can really complete the look you're going for. But, it could admittedly ruin your style. Yet that's a sacrifice players would be willing to make if it meant being able to carry more items. The only way to store items right now is via the player's house and it can be tedious to travel to and from here to switch out items.
