10 Baffling Changes Video Games Made AFTER Release

9. Forcing Players Into A Heterosexual Relationship - Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Upon initial release, Assassin's Creed Odyssey was praised for its inclusion of same-sex relationships, only for Ubisoft to misguidedly override this with the game's Legacy of the First Blade: Shadow Heritage DLC released a few months later.

This DLC ignores all sexuality preferences up to this point and forces players to both romance and have a child with a member of the opposite sex - either the son or daughter of Persian rebel Darius, depending on whether the player is playing as Alexios or Kassandra.

Given that Ubisoft had made considerable noise about the game's romantic options pre-release, many in the LGBT community felt betrayed by the DLC's railroading.

The criticism proved vocal enough that Ubisoft eventually released a patch to change the sequence in question, while also altering the accompanying achievement to no longer be centered around starting a family.

The fact that Ubisoft didn't see this coming when they first dropped the DLC is utterly baffling.
