10 Best Gaming Soundtracks Of 2012

1. Mass Effect 3

Yeah, when I said it disappointed some, it might have been more than that.

However, that said, the score of ME3 is breathtaking. The raw emotion of the title is encapsulated and felt in only a few tracks, making for incredible listening. It was one of the first scores of the year, and it stayed with us from then. Its heartbreaking piano pieces, troubling action scenes, and electric effects takes us into the troubling essence of Shepard's life, and ultimately the pressure and loss which comes with what he/she has to do.

The track was created by Golden Globe nominated composer Clint Mansell, as well as Christopher Lennertz, Cris Velasco, Sam Hulick and Sasha Dikicyan. Due to complicated reasons, composer of ME and ME2 soundtracks Jack Wall did not take part. Which like the AC3 track, was seen to undertake criticism - as the original artist's lack of participation would dent the 'essence' of the series. But in doing so, created the best soundtrack of the year. I guess this proves that everyone would be a lot more rich and successful if sentiment didn't exist, right?

The Mass Effect 3 score was sublime, adding the raw emotion and passion ever-present in the game's campaign. Shepard's last stand for earth was a monumental effort, and has been rewarded for it. Just as it was an almost perfect game (for some, don't hurt me...), it was a perfect, groundbreaking soundtrack.

That's the lot of them. If you believe there should be an extra track, or don't like the placing, put them in the comments.
