10 Best Levels In The Spyro Reignited Trilogy
1. Dark Passage
A fitting champion of the Reignited Trilogy. While all the levels obviously look graphically better than they did on first release, the charm eeked away from a couple. Some skylines in Year Of The Dragon, for example, are the same dull blue instead of the peach cream sunsets of yesteryear. Not so with Dark Passage. Every inch of atmosphere is just how it always was, and it’s an eeriely charming delight once more.
It has the most enemies and most gems on Spyro The Dragon, and pushes you to explore every twisting cave if you want to reach them all. It made you think about where you ventured, but nothing was hidden away so obtusely that you felt the game was cheating you.
The invincible Fools were a fantastic addition to the late game in the Dream Weavers realm, and Dark Passage makes use of them well. With turtles and dogs growing and shrinking at the Fools’ will, attacks needed to be timed and planned. Or just attack the Fool and make him hide in his lamp.
Overall, Dark Passage provides players with everything they love about Spyro, and it’s a treat for both returning players and those new to the franchise.
