10 Best Levels In The Spyro Reignited Trilogy

This prehistoric level in Spyro 2 has a massive range of activities to play through and fully utilises its theme throughout. The lava, the dinosaur eggs, the catbats... okay that last one isn’t necessarily prehistoric, but it’s a brilliant part of the level nonetheless.

The backdrop is sublime too; it’s warm and colourful yet makes a change from the usual blues and greens Spyro levels are often use. The dinosaur skeleton floating in the lava is a particular joy to see remastered in Reignited.

Gathering the eight bones makes great use of both the spitting mechanic and the powerups, and forces you to explore the terrain without feeling like a cheap fetch quest. Protecting the cave dwellers from the pterodactyl invaders had a good old platformer rinse and repeat feel as you learnt the path of least resistance to conquer your flying foes.

The only downside is the dancing skeleton after the bone fetching quest. Whoever the ‘cool’ executive was that thought it should now do the floss like an annoying twelve year old needs to take a serious look in the mirror. For shame.
