7. Kirby: Planet Robobot - 3DS

It's easy to look at Kirby and assume that - even for Nintendo - the games he appears in are probably boring, childish fare. But that couldn't be farther from the truth. For years now, Kirby has been appearing in some really fantastic platformers, including Kirby And The Rainbow Curse and Kirby: Triple Deluxe.

Planet Robobot is no different. Like Triple Deluxe, the player can hop between multiple planes in stages, keeping the platforming engaging and unique. But the most interesting thing Robobot offers are - like the title suggests - mech suits known as Robobot Armor.

These suits grant the typically weak Kirby various cool abilities, such as the ability to destroy obstructive objects and take on larger enemies.

The plot is fairly rote - a spacecraft called the Access Ark arrives on Kirby's home planet Popstar and takes over, leaving Kirby to deal with the threat - but it's a nice compliment to the enjoyable gameplay.
