Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is one of the best video games ever released, with its open world and colourful characters somehow managing to stand out even in a series known for its open worlds and colourful characters. One of the biggest reasons for the game's success was all the little things Rockstar included to make players feel like they were a part of their world. Everything from bowling to burgers were in the game for players to spend time distracting themselves with, but it was the pool minigame that people went all out in.

Pool tables had been teased in Vice City, but it is in San Andreas that players were first able to stroll into a bar, challenge anyone (providing they were holding a pool cue) and begin wagering up to $1,000 a game.

The minigame is available to play in five separate locations across the map, and plays out like any other normal game of pool a player is likely to find in the real world. Props has to go to Rockstar for their attention to detail here, with all the rules ranging from which players can hit, all the way to sinking the 8 ball last in play and reminding players that this is much more than just a gimmicky side bit of content they're likely to find anywhere else.

It's a great way of netting some extra cash, and is the best example of San Andreas' ability to suck players in for hours and avoid the main story for all that time.
