10 Best Video Game Moments Of 2015 (So Far)

2. Blasting Home Your First Goal - Rocket League

Psyonix's Rocket League continues to take the world by storm, thanks in part to it launching as a free game on PS Plus for July 2015, but the real reason everyone who's getting stuck in is coming away with a rather large grin on their face, is purely down to it having some exquisitely perfected gameplay. On the face of it, it's 'football with rocket cars' (which is already a very fine-sounding sentence taken at face-value), but when you learn how to control the gigantic ball in front of you, burn past the opposition to take control and forward-flip your car to fire score a top-corner goal well, it's the most immediately-satisfying thing you'll play all year. With a slew of customisation options including a variety of car hats and flags, you can put together your own crew of pitch-dominating road warriors (I'm personally fond of the Queen's English crown sitting atop my hulking Batmobile-style X-Devil), but there's just nothing quite so cerebrally-pleasing as slamming home a screamer into the back of the net. Maybe it's an English thing, but considering how much press this is getting overseas too, everyone owes it to themselves to check out Rocket League in full.
