10. A Proper Push For A Fresh Name (Day Of Reckoning)
When most gamers discuss the best wrestling-related titles, it's routinely those from the Smackdown series, or No Mercy on the N64 which get brought up. WCW comes in for a lot of love also, mainly on the N64. Another Nintendo console that's largely missed out however, is the Gamecube. There weren't many wrestling games released for the system, but amongst the four WWE ones which were, Day Of Reckoning has to be one of the most interesting. The story mode is pretty focused, spanning across both the initial release and the sequel (the imaginatively titled Day Of Reckoning 2). Throughout, the user-created character becomes the focal point of the entire WWE, having an on/off again friendship with Triple H and even entering into a relationship with Stacy Keibler. It's a good idea, making the player the focus on the entire story, and the mode finishes with the player on top of the company. It's this kind of push which could really work nowadays, as WWE desperately need to put more faith in newcomers. That said, the promotion would have to be wary of pushing a fresh face down everyone's throats!
