10 Best Xbox Series X Games (So Far)
6. Psychonauts 2
The long-awaited follow up to one of the most beloved cult
classics in gaming that fans have been waiting an unbearable 16 years for,
Psychonauts 2 finally arrived earlier this year – and it was certainly worth
the wait.
Taking place shortly after the first game (and its spin-off Rhombus Of Ruin), the sequel once again stars plucky pschyonaut Raz as he swaps the first game’s camp for the Psychonauts HQ as an intern, not the fully-fledged agent he hoped to be. Not long after settling into his first day on the job, though, a new threat emerges and it’s once again up to Raz (alongside some colourful supporting characters) to save the day.
Developers Double Fine have done a wonderful job in modernising the gameplay while maintaining the quirky style of the original.
Though this game is playable on PlayStation consoles, it plays substantially better for Xbox owners.
The Series X runs the game at full 4K resolution at 60fps (or 120fps at 1440p) with HDR and VRR supported. The PS5, however, is running the PS4 version of the game, which is locked at 1440p at 60fps with no HDR or VRR support. Load times are likewise massively improved on Xbox.
