The existence of a new Devil May Cry game has been one of the worst kept secrets in the industry. Popping up for years on resumes and leaking seemingly every other month, Capcom has clearly been working on a new sequel for a while now, but recent news suggests that they could be gearing up for a release next year.

Rather than just being an abstract title on a developer's CV, a recent reddit post has seemingly confirmed that the game will be unveiled at December's PSX event, hopefully in time for a full release next year.

While one reddit post isn't exactly an official confirmation, the user has a reputation for leaking accurate info early. Likewise, taking into consideration the fact that the title has seemingly been in development for an eon, and with Capcom having no big hitters lined up for 2018, the rumour seems to be pretty legitimate.

Even better, the next game will almost definitely not be tied to the rebooted DmC from a few years ago, but instead be a true sequel to the fourth hack and slasher. RIP Emo Dante, we barely knew ye.
