4. Square's Avengers Game Was A No-Show
Just where the hell was this?
Talked about at length before the show by many outlets including ourselves, we officially knew Square Enix were helming Marvel's return to console gaming alongside Sony's Spider-Man, and unofficially that it would be called "Avengers: Ultimate Alliance".
The latter title was incredibly interesting as it finally meant the Ultimate Alliance branding was getting its long-awaited third instalment - albeit tacked onto a different game altogether.
Still, leaks pointed to an over-shoulder action game starring Iron Man, Captain America and Scarlet Witch, looking to reassemble the squad after some cataclysmic event scatters our finest heroes in a million different directions.
Alas, Square Enix not only didn't even mention the game, but their entire "conference" was just half an hour long.
