10 Biggest Disappointments From E3 2018
3. The Lack Of Real Microsoft Exclusives
So, okay, Microsoft really made a point of throwing the word exclusive around during their conference. "World Exclusive", "Launch Exclusive" - exclusive, exclusive exclusive.
The crux of the matter though, is the all-important platform exclusive, to which - if you trim away all the world-first looks and timing windows, results in just five new games Xbox One owners can champion as their own. Two of which are from the same franchise:
Halo: Infinity, Gears 5, Gears Tactics, Battletoads, and Forza Horizon 4.
Microsoft supplanted this bunch with a host of announcements concerning the acquisition of multiple studios and the formation of a new first-party outfit in Santa Monica (right alongside Sony's Santa Monica team, who just gave us God of War), but considering we needed strong first-party projects ready to drop... it fell short of expectations.
