In what was a deeply disturbing, horrendous and heinous crime against humanity, Anders Breivik's chilling attack on innocent people is one of the most shocking incidents in recent memory. Taking place in Norway in 2011, Anders attacked teenagers and staff on an island commune, opening fire with a collection of guns. He also planted a bomb in a city, killing several other people, bringing the total dead by the end of his attack up to 77. Hundreds more were injured. Not only was this truly a despicable act, but the implications were felt across the gaming industry when Anders announced that he had carried out extensive training for his 'mission' by playing Modern Warfare 2. He even went so far as to use a holographic device while playing to improve his shooting. The true story here is of course the crimes were wholly committed by Anders and him alone, but it's chilling to think how something as simple as a game of COD can be used to such horrific effects.
