10 Biggest Video Game Villains With The Smallest Screentime

1. Cave Johnson - Portal

Resident Evil 5
Valve

And finally, we have Cave Johnson in the Portal franchise - the founder and CEO of Aperture Science who is ultimately responsible for everything you're forced to suffer through during both games.

Johnson is only briefly referenced in the first Portal, though his voice - as provided by J.K. Simmons - is heard extensively throughout Portal 2, with his pre-recorded messages playing as protagonist Chell navigates the abandoned Aperture Science facility.

These recordings obviously don't provide any sort of direct interaction with Johnson, though do a fantastic job of fleshing him out as a character.

Our only "real" interaction with Johnson is in fact in the Portal spin-off game Aperture Desk Job - effectively a tech demo to showcase the functionality of the Steam Deck.

Instead of meeting a flesh-and-blood Johnson, who has already died by this point in time, we discover that his consciousness has been uploaded into a computer encased within a huge stone carving of his own head. Sure, why not?

Considering that Aperture Desk Job is only a half-hour experience and Johnson only "appears" for the tail-end of it, it goes without saying that, despite being the architect of everything we witness across these three games, he's barely a presence at all.
