This next entry is a two for one special, as it covers the sequel to a game and an animated television series set in its world.

Ark: Survival Evolved is a multiplayer survival game filled with prehistoric animals and natural disasters where players can craft tools and weapons to overcome these hazards and even tame some of its animals. 3 years after the first game, fans learned that there would be a sequel, Ark 2.

The cinematic trailer did not show us any new gameplay, but it did give us Vin Diesel as the leader of his own tribe and defending it from dinosaurs and hostile humanoids. But as surprising as it was to see the lead actor of the Fast and Furious series in a cinematic trailer, that was not the only major star shown to be attached to the Ark series.

The trailer was immediately followed by another one for Ark: The Animated Series, which boasted an impressive cast including David Tennant, Gerard Butler, Elliot Page, Karl Urban, Russel Crowe, Vin Diesel and many others.

Time will tell whether it’s any good or not, but it was certainly one of the most unexpected announcements in Game Awards History.
