10 Broken Video Games That Were Fixed YEARS Later
1. Ys VIII: Lacrimosa Of Dana
Action-RPG Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana was finally released for PC in 2018, some six months after originally planned and almost two years after it first landed on the PS Vita in Japan.
Almost immediately upon release, the PC version was ripped apart by disappointed fans, who complained about almost every aspect of its graphics and gameplay being in some way compromised if not broken, from basic resolution settings to mouse and keyboard support.
Though the next few months saw a few patches released to smooth over most of the major issues, the game wasn't really whipped into full working order until early 2020, when legendary modder and "fixer" Peter "Durante" Thoman stepped in to provide an additional overhaul.
Beyond further tidying up graphical and gameplay issues, he also included an experimental two-player co-op mode, because why the hell not?
All in all, Ys fans waiting to play the game in a fully workable state on PC had to sit tight for around three-and-a-half years following its original Vita release. The nerve.
