10 Broken Video Games That Were Fixed YEARS Later
2. Scarface: The World Is Yours
As far as video game adaptations of movies go, 2006's Scarface: The World Is Yours is actually pretty good.
Sure, it's shamelessly riding the gameplay coattails of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City - itself obviously inspired by Brian De Palma's original film - but it makes an admirably concerted effort to capture the tone of the source material.
Though well-reviewed at the time of release, problems arose for the PC version in the years that followed, as the game was only officially compatible with Windows XP and Windows Vista.
Anyone using Windows 7 or beyond - released just three years after the game - were left with heavily corrupted graphics which rendered Scarface basically unplayable on modern systems.
But just last year, some 14 years after Scarface's original release, modder Silent released a patch making the game fully functional on any modern PC, fixing the graphical issues and also massively boosting performance.
Considering the game's fanbase and how many players were effectively locked out of playing it for over a decade without headache-inducing workarounds - such as creating a virtual machine with an earlier version of Windows installed - this was a major victory.
