Following the events of the first game (which you should all go and play), Isaac is left with no memory of the last three years and finds himself on a civilian planet.
Throughout the first game, Isaac had his armour and a vast array of improvised weaponry to fight off the unending onslaught of monsters.
Dead Space 2 opens with Isaac trapped in a hospital room strapped into a straight-jacket and people mutating into monsters all around him.
What makes the necropmorphs (the base enemies of the game) so terrifying, if you can look past the disjointed limbs made up of razor-like blades, is that they had been human mere moments before and still very much resemble their former selves.
Isaac is forced to look for safety in this unfamiliar location without the ability to defend himself whilst necromorphs look to end this sequel prematurely.
Donning the straight-jacket leaves you perilous to defend yourself, making these moments even more heart-pounding and terrifying.
