10 Brutal Ways Video Game Characters Directly Mocked Players
1. Lara Croft Knew What You Were Looking For (Tomb Raider II)
Lara Croft - taking down perverts since 1997.
One of gaming's most infamous dark spots was the obsession with getting Lara Croft's kit off. The rumours of the infamous nude raider cheat, an urban legend that suggested there was a code to unlock a naked version of the eponymous hero, were everywhere during the initial game's heyday. It was, naturally, untrue, but that didn't stop people from searching.
With all this unwanted attention, Lara needed to get her own back. Thankfully, she did just that in the game's sequel, teasing such players and throwing it in their faces.
In the final cutscene of Tomb Raider II, Lara, clad in a bathrobe, got herself ready for a well-earned shower. However, just before she removed her clothes and gave those thirsting players the polygons they desired, she turned to the camera and said, "Don't you think you've seen enough?" and then blasted you with a shotgun.
Yeah, that's one hell of a way to keep your game PG and score some revenge points.
